Course Details:
The climate crisis is the single largest challenge facing humanity. Our Sustainability Awareness and Carbon Reporting (SECR) course seeks to raise awareness around the effects of carbon emissions and their role in climate change, and outline the commitments we can make to be more sustainable. This Sustainability Awareness and Carbon Reporting e-learning course also highlights the need for carbon reporting and why we report greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
Climate Change
In late 2018, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) issued a stark warning that limiting global warming to 1.5°C is crucial to avoid the most catastrophic impacts of climate change. This will require action at an unprecedented pace and scale.
Sustainability Awareness
For our vision to be realised, and for our aim to be Net Zero ready by 2035, we all need to:
• Understand what sustainability means
• Be empowered to act with integrity
• Be responsible for the impact we have on our communities and our environment
Sustainability is also becoming increasingly important to clients. Showing leadership and ensuring sustainability is fully considered throughout the organisation, is becoming fundamental to business success and future resilience. Our Sustainability Awareness and Carbon Reporting course helps to communicate your organisations strategy and commitment to sustainability.
Carbon Reporting (SECR)
Organisations are required to report their carbon footprint annually in accordance with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol, a globally accepted GHG accounting standard, published by the World Resource Institute and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development. Why is Sustainability Awareness and Carbon Reporting important? Well, it helps identify areas for reduction, drives cost savings, communicates our impact to our stakeholders, monitor performance and focuses our sustainability strategy.
