Course Details:

Permits to Work are an essential tool for managing high risk or infrequent operations and for some tasks there is a legal requirement to produce Permits to Work.

The Health & Safety at Work Act (1974) requires employers to provide a safe place of work and to protect the health and safety of their employees and others that may be affected by their work activities.

It also places duties on employees to cooperate fully with their employer to comply with the health and safety duties set down under the Act and other relevant legislation.

Certain types of work carry a particularly high risk of serious injury, serious ill health or loss of property and require a more formal system of safety planning and control. This can be achieved by the use of a Permit to Work system.

This course outlines the duties and responsibilities placed upon the employer, employees, contractors, agency staff and all others by the Permit to Work requirements.
