About Two Saints

Two Saints is a charity dedicated to supporting individuals who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. With a mission to transform lives and empower people to break the cycle of homelessness, Two Saints provides a range of essential services and support to those in need. Their services are located in Berkshire, Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Portsmouth and Southampton. They offer safe and secure accommodation, access to education and employment opportunities, mental health and addiction support, and guidance for individuals to regain their independence and rebuild their lives. Through their compassionate and holistic approach, Two Saints strives to make a lasting and positive impact on the lives of vulnerable individuals and create a society where everyone has a place to call home.

The challenge

Before partnering with InfoAware, Two Saints faced several challenges in their training initiatives. Their traditional training methods relied heavily on cumbersome paper workbooks and in-person sessions. This posed logistical constraints, with busy managers needing to train new staff, and limited scalability. Additionally, they lacked standardised training content, making it difficult to ensure consistent knowledge transfer and compliance across the organisation. Two Saints sought a solution that would enable them to create bespoke e-learning programmes at an affordable cost, deliver them efficiently, and ensure engagement and comprehension among their staff.

The solution

Recognising Two Saints’ requirements, InfoAware collaborated closely with the organisation to design and implement a comprehensive training solution. The solution consisted of two distinct e-learning programmes: the Onboarding Training Programme and the Leaders and Managers Training Programme. Each programme comprised four modules, encompassing engaging e-learning courses and supplementary resources such as interactive worksheets and policy sign-off.

a) Onboarding Training Programme:

InfoAware and Two Saints developed a bespoke onboarding training programme that immersed new staff members into the organisation’s culture, policies, and procedures. The modules covered essential topics, including: 

  • Introduction to Two Saints: An overview of the organisation’s mission, values, and history. 
  • Your Personal Development Plan: Helping new starters set goals to achieve their objectives and create an action plan to assess where they might need additional training. 
  • Policies and Procedures: Familiarisation with organisational policies, such as safeguarding, health and safety, and data protection. 
  • Job-specific Training: Role-specific training modules to provide the necessary knowledge and skills for different positions within Two Saints. 
  • Compliance and Certification: Assessment and certification of staff members’ understanding and compliance with organisational policies, including health and safety and first aid training.

b) Leaders and Managers Training Programme:

InfoAware and Two Saints collaborated to create a specialised training programme for leaders and managers within the organisation. This programme aimed to develop their skills in areas such as communication, conflict resolution, and effective team management. The modules included: 

  • Leadership Principles: An exploration of leadership styles, effective communication, and team-building strategies. 
  • Performance Management: Training on leading the performance of their service(s); setting goals, providing feedback, and conducting performance appraisals. 
  • Managing Incidents: How to deal with serious incidents, debriefs, investigations, employee wellbeing and reflective practice. 
  • Conflict Resolution: Techniques for managing conflicts, fostering healthy dialogue, and promoting constructive resolutions. 
  • Ethical Decision Making: Guiding leaders and managers to make ethical decisions aligned with organisational values. 
  • Systems: An overview of the systems required for management, including HR, IT for team members, CRM and Intranet.

Implementation and delivery 

InfoAware’s Moodle platform played a crucial role in delivering the training programmes efficiently. The platform provided a user-friendly interface, allowing staff members to access the courses, complete modules at their own pace, and track their progress. The platform also facilitated engagement through interactive quizzes, discussions, and multimedia elements embedded within the courses. Participants could access additional resources, such as worksheets and policy sign-off forms, to reinforce their learning and compliance.

The results


The collaboration between InfoAware and Two Saints yielded remarkable outcomes, transforming their training initiatives and fostering a culture of continuous learning within the organisation. Key results and benefits included: 

  1. Enhanced Onboarding Experience: New staff members reported feeling more engaged, knowledgeable, and aligned with the organisation’s mission and values.
